Backstroke

Disqualification will happen if a swimmer faults in any of the following:

  • Has toes go over edge/gutter of pool at starting
  • Must be on back entire time, except for when doing turns. Which must be an unbroken movement, utilizing the arm as part of the continuous turn. If utilizing both arms, it must be simultaneous.
  • Must be on back when leaving a turn/wall
  • Rolls their shoulder(s)  past 90 degrees
